A small cap of warm light

Shaped like a mushroom and not much taller than a mug, the Otto sits happily on a bedside table, a bookshelf or the middle of a dinner table. The dome throws a warm 3000K glow downwards, so what you get is a soft circle of light rather than a bright spot.

There is no cable. A built in battery runs for four to eight hours and refills in an hour or two over the supplied Type C lead, so the lamp can follow you around the house. Tap the top to switch it on and to step through three brightness levels.

Two heights, two woods

The short version stands 10.5 cm and the tall one 16.5 cm, both on a 10 cm base with a soft pad underneath to protect the surface. Choose walnut or oak, and a slim or a thicker stem. Switched off it still earns its place as a small wooden object; switched on it makes a corner feel finished.
