Alva Cordless Table Lamp

Light for the places a socket cannot reach

The Alva is a compact metal lamp that carries its own power. Stand it on a windowsill, a side table or a shelf that has never had a plug nearby and it gives a gentle pool of light for around eight hours before it needs charging again.

Everything is done with one finger. A tap moves between three light tones, from a cool white for reading to a warm one for the evening, and a press held down slides the brightness up or down. Nothing to pair, nothing to set up.

Gold or black

Both finishes are a smooth plated metal with softly rounded edges. At 21 cm tall and 9 cm wide the lamp takes up about as much room as a glass, which is why it works on crowded surfaces.

Good to know

• Three light tones, each dimmable

• About 8 hours per charge, 3 hours to recharge

• Iron body with an acrylic diffuser

• USB charging cable in the box

A useful lamp first, and a good looking one as a bonus.
