A woven lantern with a candle that never burns down

The Reed is a floor lantern woven by hand from strips of bamboo around a simple frame. Inside sits a battery LED candle, so the light comes through the weave in a broken, flickering pattern that feels like a real flame without the flame.

It is a lamp for the floor beside a sofa, the corner of a bedroom or a covered porch on a summer evening. Nothing to wire, nothing to plug in; the candle runs on batteries and the lantern can go wherever it looks right.

Two sizes

The small one is 37 cm tall and the large one 56 cm, both roughly 25 to 27 cm across. Together they work well at different heights in the same corner.
