The Rune is a small metal lamp with a narrow stem and a curved cap that spreads the light softly across a table. It is plated rather than painted, so the finish has a little depth to it and holds up to being moved about.

Tap the top to switch between light temperatures and keep your finger on it to change the brightness. On its brightest setting the battery lasts up to eleven hours, which comfortably covers an evening, and it recharges from the USB lead in the box.

Made to be moved

At 21 cm tall and half a kilo it is easy to carry from the desk to the sofa to the bedside. Gold, silver or copper. It is meant for indoors, though a summer evening on the table outside will not hurt it.
